Billy Idol will be the first celebrity honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2023.
Idol's star will fittingly be placed at 6201 Hollywood Boulevard outside of Amoeba Music in a ceremony Thursday, January 5. The star will be the 2,743rd on the Walk of Fame.
"Since the beginning of his career Billy Idol has held the hearts of many of his fans who finally will be able to visit his star and witness his induction into the Walk of Fame," said Hollywood Walk of Fame producer Ana Martinez.
Fellow rocker Henry Rollins is among the notable artists scheduled to participate in the ceremony.
Idol is one of punk rock's first mainstream icons, and his string of pop hits in the '80s made him one of the first MTV megastars.
Forty-five years since his first single, Idol remains as productive as ever with new EPs, The Roadside and The Cage issued in each of the past two years.
