Mötley Crüe frontman Vince Neil returned to the stage last Wednesday, just one month removed from a scary fall off the stage that left him with "a few" broken ribs.

Ordinarily, Crüe fans would universally applaud Neil's speedy recovery. But the fact that Neil, who has publicly struggled with alcohol abuse for well over three decades, was performing at the annual DrinksGiving event in Las Vegas has only raised more concerns for his health.

To make matters worse, fan-shot footage from the performance shows Neil again struggling mightily with his singing voice and seeming rely on backup singers and the audience for the choruses of many Mötley Crüe classics.

Few would expect a singer recovering from broken ribs to be in top form just a month later, but Neil has often struggled with his vocals in recent memory.

Neil began performing again this past spring with his solo band. He ended his first performance early, apologizing for losing his voice during "Girls, Girls, Girls." Footage from that initial performance made the rounds online as fans pointed out that Neil had clearly not benefitted from the one-year delay in the 'Stadium Tour.' Would he be in shape in time for the rescheduled tour in 2022?

Neil has been under a microscope since before Mötley Crüe announced its 'Stadium Tour' reunion — a clause in the rumored deal made the band's $150 million payday contingent upon Neil losing 40lbs.

Neil denied the rumors at the time. Not long after the reunion was made official, bassist Nikki Sixx suggested that the singer was "killing it" in the gym, getting ready for the tour.

Mere weeks later, however, Neil went viral again when a Cameo message he sent to a fan (for $400) surfaced on social media. Neil is visibly intoxicated in the clip as he stumbles through the birthday wish.

In 2016, Neil pleaded guilty to misdemeanor assault to settle charges related to a bizarre drunken incident that occurred during a day out in Vegas with Nicholas Cage.
